Overcast Skies, Radiant Love | Estes Park Engagement Session
Cailey & Phil are one of those couples who make photographing love feel effortless. They saw a post I shared on social media offering a discounted engagement session at Cub Lake Trailhead in Estes Park—I was already planning to be there for another couple’s shoot, and these two jumped at the chance. I'm so glad they did!
We had just 30 minutes together, but honestly, it was the kind of session that reminded me how much magic can happen in a short amount of time. The sky was overcast, the wind was fierce, and it was definitely one of those days that reminded you it’s still chilly in the Colorado mountains—even in spring. But Cailey and Phil handled it like true Coloradoans: completely unbothered. Their joy and connection brought so much warmth to the session, it was easy to forget how cold it really was.
They kept things simple with matching white tops and jeans, which paired perfectly with the snowy peaks in the distance and the muted colors of the landscape. It was one of those combinations where everything just worked together—outfits, location, lighting, and especially them.
Cailey’s smile is absolutely radiant—seriously, it lights up every photo—and Phil clearly adores her. Their love came through in every little glance and laugh, and I found myself smiling behind the camera more than once.
Even though this was a quick session, it was full of heartfelt moments. And the best part? They’re most likely going to book me for their wedding day! I cannot wait to tell more of their love story, from windy mountain trails to wherever they say “I do.”
Cailey & Phil, thank you for braving the chill and trusting me to capture such a sweet part of your journey. I already know your wedding will be just as joyful and full of love.
